Simulator of packs needed to complete Panini's FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ album

This project tries to estimate the number of packs needed to complete the Qatar 2022 World Cup Album based on various factors. The main factor is the number of people with whom the repeated figures are exchanged, what is the average number of envelopes needed to complete the album if it is collected with a group of 10 people?, and 5?, and alone? These questions and more we try to answer throughout this report.

We predefine some ideas and take into account that:

  • The album has 670 stickers (not counting the legendary stickers, which were not taken into account for this research).
  • According to Panini —the company that sells the album— there are no figurines that are more difficult to obtain than others, therefore we assume that they are all equiprobable.
